Start Up the Week
The month of November is a natural time to focus on being thankful. The word “thankful” means “to appreciate.” Are you appreciative of the things God has done for you? Take a moment and think about your life. I’m sure you can find a number of things for which you can express gratitude to your Heavenly Father.
When you appreciate something, you do not take it for granted. Instead, you make a concerted effort to value the part it plays in your life. For example, I am thankful for my family. They are very important to me. I realize that God has given me a wonderful husband and two great children, not to mention my fantastic grandchildren! I value them as human beings and I value the relationships I have with them. I thank God for and appreciate my family.
What can you express appreciation to God for? Did He save you from a life of destruction? Perhaps He turned your marriage around. Did His healing power heal your child? I know you can probably make a long list of all of the wonderful things God has done for you.
Let me encourage you this week and this month to take some time to generate a list of things for which you are thankful.
You will be amazed at how wonderful your life really is!
Have a blessed week,
Lynette
